Asana (Posture) Clinic: 

Learn the technicality and anatomy of the poses, as by keeping the integrity of the pose and doing it the correct way our practice is more fruitful and powerful, and our yoga journey is injury free.

In this workshop we are going to dissect Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation)  and sitting and standing twists.  We will learn to stabilize the poses and transitioning of the poses without compromising the form while keeping our practice safe.

Space is limited to 10 dynamic yogis so please call and reserve your space.

Chakras are energy centers of Paraná, life force or vital energy that correspond to vital points in the physical body like plexus and arteries.

Facial Yoga Workshop

 

Our face is working hard the whole day, it helps us speak, chew, laugh, cry, kiss, grin, smile, frown and whole lot more.  Its exposed to sun, snow, grit and grime, scrateches, rubs, and make-up. Like muschles in other parts of body, our facial muscles store stress and tention too.  Facial muscles need toning the same way our body needs.  Exercising your facial muscles tightens, tones and even combats aging. 

Benefits of Facial yoga include improved complexion, both in texture and color, the face looks relaxed but with the firmer contours.  It releases tention in face and neck and increases circulation to both areas, making you feel lighter and uplifted.

In this workshop we will learn to rejuvenate and tone the face and neck.  We will learn how to exercise neglected muscles and incorporate the facial exercises while doing the regular asanas (poses).  You will learn mini postures and exercises to specifically target your face and neck.

Tai Chi Gong Seminar

 

The seminar is designed to improve the general health and wellbeing of the practitioner. The gentle rocking motions and stretching movements improve circulation and digestion. The chest exercises and controlled breathing improves the lungs breathing capacity and reduces symptoms of asthma and bronchitis. Overall effect of the exercise is to reduce mental stress and physical tension.

Learn how to free your energy to flow and work for you, rather than against you

Practice so called “conflict resolution movements” (internal conflict – inside your body and external conflict between your body and external environment) and examine the related aspects of structure: “root” and “ central equilibrium”

Kids Yoga Party: 

Our first Kids event this year, girls ages 5-8 are invited to paricipate in yoga games and learn a little Bollywood Dance (from India) and have lots of fun. Free food and fun for the little Bollywood dancers.  Kids must be accompanied by mom or dad.

Explores the three basic principles of any healing qigong system, and teaches the physical exercises required for daily practice. This course is appropriate for health care practitioners as well as those seeking to pursue personal wellness.

Wudang Ba Duan Jin

Learn the full Eight Silk Brocade healing qigong set, including movements, postures, stretching, and coordination drills.

 

 INSTRUCTOR’S BIOGRAPHY

Yuan Zi Rong was formally trained in China at Wudangshan, under the guidance of Master Yuan Xiu Gang in internal kung fu, qigong and meditation, and under the instruction of Master Du Yi Jun, a highly-esteemed blind master of tui na massage.

 

David was accepted as a disciple of Master Yuan in 2007, and spends part of each year at Wudangshan upholding his responsibilities as Senior Disciple at the Wudang Daoist Traditional Internal Kung Fu Academy.

 

In addition to his Wudang training, David is also certified in Wat Po Traditional Thai massage, and acupressure from the Institute of Acupressure in Berkeley, California. David also trained in traditional Shaolin kung fu with Master Y.C. Chiang. Originally from Richmond, California, David now travels internationally, conducting workshop intensives in Thailand, Czech Republic, Sweden, England, Germany, Hawaii, and the U.S. mainland.

Ultimate Stretch:

In this fabulous workshop conducted by Beth and our dear Julian students will be assisted in each and every pose, they will be properly aligned and massaged into correct form. This gives the body a chance to experience its greatest range of motion, followed by a relase of tention resulting in total relaxation of body and mind. You will learn how to deepen and get more out of your regular stretches.

We present one more evening of movie and our usual vegi potluck.  We are going to watch "Food, Inc.".  This Oscar mominated documentary explores the food industry's detrimintal effects on our health and environment. The spotlights is on the men and women who are working to reform an industry rife with monopolies and questionable interpretations of laws and subsidies and rising rates of E coli outbreaks.

Wudang Five Animals Qigong :

 

An ancient Chinese exercise created to improve one’s health and longevity. The movements of this exercise are based on the movements of five animals: the dragon, the tiger, the leopard, the snake, and the crane. Each “animal stance” is designed to improve the function of a specific internal organ. The dragon improves the kidneys, the tiger improves the lungs, the leopard improves the liver, the snake improves the spleen, and the crane improves the heart. Through dedicated practice, Wudang Five Animals Qigong has the capacity to bring balance back to one’s internal organ system. When the internal organs are in balance, the body is able to work at its optimum efficiency, thus improving the overall health and longevity of the practitioner.

 Wudang Five Animals Qigong also opens up the joints, lengthens the tendons, and strengthens the muscles. If practiced regularly, this ancient exercise improves the functions of the respiratory and circulatory systems as well. It can literally reverse the aging process so that one can enjoy the benefits of strong and healthy body well into their years.

There is an intereting perspective shifting exercise and discussion.
